Job Opportunity - Chef/Butler Houseman $85,000 Per Year Plus Benefits
CHEF/HOUSEMAN Job Description – Excellent Salary and Benefits Live in
The duties and responsibilities will change due to staff availability in each location and with peak vs. slow periods of time. Duties will be performed in Georgia, Florida, Maryland, Washington, D.C., New Hampshire and other locations when necessary.
Menu planning for approval by Mr. and/or Mrs. that reflects their personal preferences and dietary guidelines.
Knowledge of wine plus maintaining inventory in each location.
Maintain inventory of bar supplies, liquor, beer, soft drinks, napkins and linens.
Compiling grocery list and purchasing food and other items using good judgment for quality and price.
Preparation of foods and beverages to be served in a timely manner while employing the strictest standards of safety, cleanliness and health guidelines. This will include hors d’oeuvres, snacks, barbecues, picnics in the field & hunting wagon supplies in Georgia.
Receiving guests, Bartending and Serving or coordinating same. Serving foods and beverages should be in a manner employing formal rules of etiquette in an unobtrusive manner. Plates are prepared and served to guests. Occasionally, buffets are set. The Chef/Houseperson must arrange for extra help, coordinating with Mr. or Mrs. The full-time housekeepers in Easton and Georgia are trained to serve. These housekeepers have worked for the family for 10+ years.
Clean or assist in the clean up of kitchen and dining facilities after meals.
Maintain kitchen appliances, equipment, utensils, cabinets and shelves in clean and working order. Contact appropriate vendor or coordinate with appropriate personnel regarding needed repairs and replacements.
Maintain grills in clean and working order.
Maintain cars and boats in clean and working order.
Some driving as required to include loading and unloading luggage.
As times permits, secure firewood supply, building fires in residences and picnic area as needed. Unused firewood is stored properly outside at the end of the season.
Maintain porches/walkways (blowing leaves, etc.), windows, light fixtures, docks, fans, etc.
Maintain metal fixtures, furnishings, hardware, accessories in clean and polished manner. In Georgia, help maintain guns, fishing equipment, hunting boots, rain suits, safety vests, golf clubs and balls.
During down time, assist in planting and maintaining the grounds.
Provide personal and property security as needed.
Be willing and available to perform other tasks as requested.

Hi Valerie,
I just have one question and I'm not trying to be a jerk. I read the list of responsibilities, does this positition allow for sleep, or any free time? It sounds like 80-90 hour a week job or more to me without any days off. This can not be a legitimate job advertisement, you have to be kidding!!! How many personnel to accomplish all these duties?
