Hello- you have any locations coming up soon??
there will be an update to the TTT which will be necessary for the ACE to have to continue certification - look at the list as National has one listed- the ACA in Cape May will be doing it on 6-25 also.

Can you send me more information on your program. Is it open to new chefs looking for an externship possibility?

My last visit was in March on DDG 63 USS Stethem. I'm hoping to go out again in August - looking at a "L" deck.

I just wanted to see if anyone has recently come off a ship visit. I know we have a couple lined up to go.

Chef,
I spemnt quite a bit of time with friends from the Royal Navy. First on Diego Garcia B.I.O.T. and later on when we pulled into Liverpool to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic in May of 93. The HMS Liverpool was the host ship for the start of a 4 day party where we partyed on ships of about a dozen countries. Wow!

Steel Beach on the flight deck...my favorite event!

Paul, When I served in the Navy as a MS/CS we had a saying that really applies to everyone in our industry, not just those serving in the Military. Sometimes we would have days or at least portions of Sundays designated as "Holiday Routine" (especially when we had steel beach picnics up on deck). All this really means is: "Holiday for the crew, routine for the cooks". My last ship was a Destroyer and it is pretty fun getting ready to feed the crew when the ships are a little choppy :-)

I have pictures of my ship refueling at sea and helicopter practice of landing and replenishment. Fun to watch and feel aboard ship as the galley was rolling in four different directions when we were steaming at 15 knots at 150 feet apart. Calm on the starboard side and swells reaching almost to the deck rails between. You will experience many things aboard ship we never to in our kitchens and they still have to provide meals when all this is going on.
