I'm currently discussing with my director about adding a second instructor to teach Baking and Pastry and was wondering how many instructors you all had.

Hi Richmond,

I am only a second year teacher, with 24 years industry experience, and last year in Maryland I noted quite a few programs at States Skills USA with 2 instructors. In our case, I am not sure that will ever happen, so good luck!

A good person to contact would be the individual who ran your state's Skills competition, since they will have been in contact with all of the county instructors.

We have 3 Full time instructors (Front of House, Baking/Pastry, Culinary) 1 full time aide, 1 part time aide. This is all for 260 students. 105 AM and 155 PM. That means that the 3 teachers in the program share a daily load of 86 students. Most other programs have teacher daily loads of 50. Our program and 3 others on campus out of 37 other CTE programs provide the bulk of daily ADM to the school.

email me at cbrooks@evit.com if you have more questions.

Our program is divided a bit differently. We are a two year program, with an instructor for the first year program, and I teach the second year. We also have one para to share. This is for 75 students.
